GSF Blog Hop – Truly Tailored Card for Dad

Hi Friends! I hope you’re having an amazing week so far! I’ve been busy this week; both at work and at play, but I am happy to bring you a card featuring the new Truly Tailored Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalogue that went live on January 3rd!

Seriously, have you seen the catalogue yet? It has so many amazing new items, I can hardly handle it! If you’re joining me from the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, thank you for stopping by! I know you’ve already seen some amazing projects, so thanks for sticking around!

If you’re here just because you enjoy my blog (thanks a million!), be sure to check out the other amazing projects by checking out the list below!

From the moment I opened the Occasions Catalogue, the True Gentlemen Suite instantly caught my eye. I’m not sure if was the colours (my fave colours are blue/turquoise), or if it’s because masculine cards are what I struggle with most, but this set really has it all for me. Plus, I thought that this suite would make the masculine cards come a bit easier for me.

And let me tell you, this suite has helped so much!

Lookin' Sharp Dad Birthday Card - GSP Blog - JAN2018

I decided to go with something a bit more simple this time, but this suite really allows you to get creative with the sentiments and embellishments. The colour, sentiments; everything about this set just speaks to me and has so much to offer.

I think aside from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set itself, the True Gentlemen Designer Series Paper may be one of my most favourite Designer Series Paper that Stampin’ Up! has ever had. I say this because of it’s level of details, it’s classiness, and I think it can appeal to both kids and adults alike. Just think of the gift packaging you can create with it too!

If you like this suite as much as I do, but are not too sure what to get, I’ve put together this little bundle for you to give you a hand. It’s an easy way to earn a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!

GSF Blog Hop – Kids Cards

Hello friends!

I’m sorry I’ve been a little MIA recently – I have good reason with some exciting things coming down the pipe! Until I can release any more info, I am back to regular posting. And what a better way to be back than with a Blog Hop with my friends over at the Global Stamping Friends?!

gsf-blog-hop
Today’s hop is all about Kids Cards! Sometimes I struggle with kids cards even though the perception is that they’re easy to make. To be honest, I find them the most challenging! Kids likes and dislikes are constantly changing, so sometimes it’s hard to keep up!

Having said that, I think I’ve come up with a couple of kids cards that will impress even the toughest of our little critics!

Enter: the Magical Mermaid Stamp Set!

Mermaid Card

Isn’t this just gorgeous? I used Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, and Dapper Demin ink to create the beautiful watercolour background, and then used the Watercolour Pencils to colour in the mermaid. Unfortunately, there are no dies or framelits with this set, but it’s nothing a little fussy cutting can’t solve!

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering about the watermark on the photo, Sweet Paper Studios is my other small business. You can learn more and check out my page by clicking HERE.

My next card involves a little punch art! I don’t do very much punch art, but when I do, I can’t help but go all-out!

Leo Lion Card - Stamping Girl

This sweet little lion was created using the Fox Builder Punch, along with a 2″ scallop punch for his mane. You can find the leaves in the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies.

Leo Lion 2 - Stampin' Girl

I just love how both of these cards turned out and I know that the recipients loved them too!

What about you, do you find kids’ cards hard to design?

gsf-blog-hop

The theme this month is My Favourite Bundle. Honestly though, how can I pick just one?! There are so many I love, but I guess if I had to pick the one I am using the most right now, it would be the Oh So Succulent Bundle.

I just love how versatile this set is! You can really do so much with it, including having the ability to make a beautiful succulent garden (like the one below!). Details on this project are coming soon, so stay tuned! But here are a few things I’ve created with this bundle.

GSF Blog Hop – Sketch Challenge

Hi Stampers! Welcome to my very first Blog Hop with the Global Stamping Friends!

gsf-blog-hop
I am so excited to participate in my first blog hop – so let’s hope I actually do this right 🙂 I am actually pretty honoured to participate in the hop alongside so many talented artists! I can’t wait to see what they come up.

Now, let’s get to it. This month’s hop is a sketch challenge based on the following sketch. We have to option to follow it to a ‘T’ or really have some fun and play around with it. I chose a bit of both!

gsf-march-hop

There are really so many places you can take a sketch like this, but for this challenge, I chose to keep it simple. Sometimes I think simple cards are the best cards; think of  understated beauty. And that’s exactly what I think this is.

gsp-blog-hop-pic1

For this card I used a scrap piece of paper from last year’s Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack. I alway keep my scraps. Always. That way when I need to make a quick card, I have some paper readily available. Beside, why waste good paper? 🙂

I also used the Avant Garden stamp set that is part of the current Sale-A-Bration promotion. I absolutely love this set. It’s so versatile and can really be used with any sentiment you may have on hand. The best part is, is that you can get this set for FREE! Click HERE to learn more.

gsp-blog-hop-pic4

The colours used for this card include Watermelon Wonder, a hint of Cherry Cobbler using the Stampin’ Write Marker, Cucumber Crush, and Basic Black for the sentiment.  Of course, I also added some rhinestones as well, for a nice added touch!

Pretty and simple.

And thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my card. Now it’s time to hop on over to the next person…Kimberley has something amazing waiting for you as well!
