New Beginnings | GDP123

Hello Friends!

I decided to enter the Global Design Project Challenge #123 at the last minute, and I’m super excited to show you what I came up with! I’ve done the challenge before, but I admit, it’s been a while!

New Beginnings GDP123 - 1

This challenge (#GDP123) is all about new beginnings, and I think this is something we can all relate to. Whether it’s a new job, you’re a new Stampin’ Up! Demo (or want to be!), retirement, wedding…the list can go on! We’ve all started anew at one point or other, so what a perfect theme!

GDPD123

For this particular card, I had two things in mind; retirement and/or new job. I think it suits either occasion as its bright, cheery, and really shows excitement!

The layout of the card is cased from the lovely Lauren Alarid, who is a fellow demonstrator and a 2018 Artisan Design Team Member. Her cards are always so lovely, but the layout in which this one is based, is probably one of my faves!

You’ll notice that I used a couple of different stamp sets for this card; the new Picture Perfect Stamp Set from the new Occasions Catalogue, as well as the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue.

Colours used are Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Peekaboo Peach. Also used is the beautiful Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, which created the beautiful background on this card.

Quick and Simple Valentine’s Day Treat Holder w/VIDEO

I have a real treat for you today!

(See what I did there?)

But first, let me tell you some EXCITING news!

I am officially a YouTuber! I am so excited about creating my own YouTube channel and it just so happens that I have published my first official YouTube video with today’s project!

So onto today’s project, which is this really pretty Valentine’s Day Treat Holder!

Valentine's Day Treat Holder.jpg

Seriously, how cute is this?!

And it’s not just for treats either! You can fit gift cards, two tea bags, fruit snacks, and more. It’s also perfect for ANY occasion.

For this treat holder, I used our new Sure Do Love You Bundle from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue (which also got me a FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set since the bundle is just over $60.00)!

The Sure Do Love You Bundle is part of the Painted with Love Product Suite which includes the gorgeous Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper that I used for the treat holder. I think the paper is my favourite product in the suite because it’s SO beautiful and so versatile (think Valentines, wedding, birthdays, etc.).

The entire suite pairs beautifully with the Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder that I used for the banner on the treat holder too!

Recent Projects

Now that I’ve posted my first blog post, I thought I’d share a few recent projects I’ve completed before going head on into video tutorials, etc.

Making cards has become a passion of mine so I’m so thankful I get to share them with my audience. Let me know what you think by commenting below!

Birthday Florals
One of my favourite stamp sets from Sale-A-Bration is the What I Love photopolymer stamps. The florals are just so versatile that they can really be used for any card. For this particular card, I used the Island Indigo ink pad with matching paper, and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Butterfly Basics Clear-Mount Stamp Set (my personal favourite birthday sentiment!). I then added some rhinestones and a touch of Wink of Stella to the flowers, and here we are!

The fold is also different from your standard card so I think it really make this one stand out.Birthday FINAL - Blog FEB02Birthday 2 FINAL - Blog FEB02

So Loved
This is a great card for beginners. I used Whisper White cardstock, along with a patterned paper from our Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack that can be found on Page 17 in our 2016 Occasions catalogue. The floral stamp is from the For the New Two rubber stamp set in our 2015 – 2016 Annual catalogue and the sentiment stamp is from the Watercolour Wishes photopolymer stamp set. The ink colours used are Basic Black and Blushing Bride.

Butterfly Love
This card is also great for beginners, and it involves one of my favourite tools – the Big Shot! The cardstock used is Island Indigo and Whisper White (which is embossed using the Lovely Lace embossing folder). I also used matching ribbon and the Butterflies Thinlits.
