GSF Blog Hop – Truly Tailored Card for Dad

Hi Friends! I hope you’re having an amazing week so far! I’ve been busy this week; both at work and at play, but I am happy to bring you a card featuring the new Truly Tailored Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalogue that went live on January 3rd!

Seriously, have you seen the catalogue yet? It has so many amazing new items, I can hardly handle it! If you’re joining me from the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, thank you for stopping by! I know you’ve already seen some amazing projects, so thanks for sticking around!

If you’re here just because you enjoy my blog (thanks a million!), be sure to check out the other amazing projects by checking out the list below!

From the moment I opened the Occasions Catalogue, the True Gentlemen Suite instantly caught my eye. I’m not sure if was the colours (my fave colours are blue/turquoise), or if it’s because masculine cards are what I struggle with most, but this set really has it all for me. Plus, I thought that this suite would make the masculine cards come a bit easier for me.

And let me tell you, this suite has helped so much!

I decided to go with something a bit more simple this time, but this suite really allows you to get creative with the sentiments and embellishments. The colour, sentiments; everything about this set just speaks to me and has so much to offer.

I think aside from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set itself, the True Gentlemen Designer Series Paper may be one of my most favourite Designer Series Paper that Stampin’ Up! has ever had. I say this because of it’s level of details, it’s classiness, and I think it can appeal to both kids and adults alike. Just think of the gift packaging you can create with it too!

Have A Cuppa Card Sampler

Nice Cuppa Designer Paper Cards

Guys, I am in love! With the Have A Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack that is!

Seriously, aren’t these so cute?! This paper stack is probably one of my new faves, and you can find it on page 35 of the new 2016 Occasions Catalogue from Stampin’ Up!

I love it because all of the colours work really well together; they are so bright and cheery, and are a subtle reminder to me that Spring is, in fact, on it’s way!

Here’s a closer look at the cards with some detailed information.

Here’s To You:
This card measures 4″ x 5½”. Each designer paper is 1¼” x 5¼”. The white flag measures  1″ x 3″.

For embellishments, I used three of the Brights Candy Dots from Stampin’ Up! and a flower I already had on hand.

Nice Cuppa - Here's to You

You Are Tea-riffic:
This card measures 4¼” x 5½”. Each designer paper is 1¼” x 5¼”. The white flag measures  1″ x 3″.

For embellishments, I used three of the Brights Candy Dots from Stampin’ Up! and then I made a tea bag from vellum paper and Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine (currently on clearance for only $1.59!).

You Are So Loved:
This super cute card (measuring 4¼” x 5½”, and now one of my favourites) was made using the Herringbone Technique. Believe it or not, this is my first card using this technique. Not too shabby if I do say so myself 🙂

Most of this card was made using leftover scrap pieces of paper; a good reason why I always save mine!

If you’re just hearing about this technique, then stay tuned! I hope to film my very first video tutorial on this technique soon!

Recent Projects

Now that I’ve posted my first blog post, I thought I’d share a few recent projects I’ve completed before going head on into video tutorials, etc.

Making cards has become a passion of mine so I’m so thankful I get to share them with my audience. Let me know what you think by commenting below!

Birthday Florals
One of my favourite stamp sets from Sale-A-Bration is the What I Love photopolymer stamps. The florals are just so versatile that they can really be used for any card. For this particular card, I used the Island Indigo ink pad with matching paper, and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Butterfly Basics Clear-Mount Stamp Set (my personal favourite birthday sentiment!). I then added some rhinestones and a touch of Wink of Stella to the flowers, and here we are!

The fold is also different from your standard card so I think it really make this one stand out.Birthday FINAL - Blog FEB02Birthday 2 FINAL - Blog FEB02

So Loved
This is a great card for beginners. I used Whisper White cardstock, along with a patterned paper from our Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack that can be found on Page 17 in our 2016 Occasions catalogue. The floral stamp is from the For the New Two rubber stamp set in our 2015 – 2016 Annual catalogue and the sentiment stamp is from the Watercolour Wishes photopolymer stamp set. The ink colours used are Basic Black and Blushing Bride.

Butterfly Love
This card is also great for beginners, and it involves one of my favourite tools – the Big Shot! The cardstock used is Island Indigo and Whisper White (which is embossed using the Lovely Lace embossing folder). I also used matching ribbon and the Butterflies Thinlits.
